Hello and welcome,
You have now entered my ePortfolio. This site will be used to reveal my passion for healthcare and provide insight into my professional and personal views. Here you will find a collection of resources related to my journey through the Master of Health Studies progam at Athabasca University. If you have any questions or comments please feel to connect with me via social media pages or send me an email through this page.
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Ashley Camden and I am a Registered Nurse working in Ontario. I went into nursing in 2011 with the intent of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. After my first placement I knew that nursing was my passion and that I wanted to make an impact and a difference in all of my patient's lives.
I worked as a frontline nurse prior to transitioning to a leadership role. My first leadership role was as an After Hours Coordinator. I learned a lot of valuable leadership skills prior to moving to the leader of a Surgical Care floor, followed by the leader of the Emergency Department. I now find myself leading a fantastic team on a Complex Care Unit.
At this stage in my professional career I am ready to begin my Masters in order to become a more complete and effective leader. I want to take on more quality improvement projects with my team and feel that obtaining my Masters of Health Studies will prepare me for the next level of leadership.
In order to be the best version of myself at work, I use nature to recharge and ground myself. I love traveling and exploring, mountains, sunsets and finding the beauty in the small things in life. The pictures on my ePortfolio are photos that I have taken myself. I believe life is what you make it, and we have an opportunity everyday to make something beautiful happen!
Please take a look around at my ePortfolio as I navigate my way through my first Masters of Health Studies class.
